Cleveland 2013 Convention & Leisure Tourism Metrics Report

Tourism Industry Friends, Partners and Colleagues,

We are excited to share with you our 2013 Convention and Leisure Tourism Metric Report. This report shows an increase in visitation and economic impact during the 2013 travel year indicating the growth of Cleveland's travel and tourism industry.

Typically, we distribute our metrics report in the spring, but this year we waited to incorporate the new annual economic impact figures released jointly in July by TourismOhio and Tourism Economics. By including the new visitor volume, sales and jobs numbers in the 2013 metrics report we are able to provide you with a more comprehensive overview of the impact the travel and tourism industry has on Cleveland's economy.

We release this report just as we begin another significant chapter in our city's history. One year after opening the Cleveland Convention Center, our city was recommended to host the 2016 Republican National Convention. That same week, LeBron James announced his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Both of these events fueled several national media stories about the renaissance taking place in Cleveland. This community is going through a transformation like never before and the travel and tourism industry is at the forefront.

With continued hard work, collaboration and dedication, we will continue to see the results shared in this report rise to new heights. We at Positively Cleveland want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support and partnership.

    Best regards,
    David Gilbert
